It's time for an all-new NOR CAL Report! This week Patrick Marleau, leading scorer and captain of the San Jose Sharks, joins the lads for an inside look at all things teal. The Sharks are as hot as ever — but as always, there's plenty of Nor Cal turbulence to talk about, too:
The Kings part ways with Coach Reggie Theus. With the blueprint on the floor largely unchanged, what is ite that the flyin' Maloofs hope to accomplish?
The Warriors have their coach intact — but a record no better than Sac's. Hear which young players will keep grabbin' pine, and who's quietly emerging as a diamond in the rough;
The Sharks continue to deliver an icy can of whoop-ass to the NHL. Are they fallable? Or an all-time great? Can you be too psyched, too soon, about a team this good?
The 49ers dominate the turf and the stat sheet. So how'd their Sunday in the park end with an 'L'?
And the Raiders continue to set new lows, getting dosed early and often by New England at home. Raiders fans continue to ask with one voice: could it possibly get any worse? Dangerous question...
But Lex and Jess are never afraid to ask the tough ones — all for you, and always on The NOR CAL Report!
UP NEXT: A's departed closer Huston Street gives Jess an exclusive on his offseason workouts and vacation time, gameday routine, and favorite bullpen bull sessions. Plus: the 49ers look to make another leap forward, the Raiders expand the definition of "rock bottom," and the young basketball teams desperately try to regroup. Meanwhile, the Sharks continue to make chum of the National Hockey League.
The NOR CAL Blog:
All the latest info, anecdotes and opinions from the Report's own Jess Zitrin.
49ers announcer Joe Starkey will get plenty of tributes as he retires from Niners duty. In the end, though, he'll be remembered for another amazing, sensational, dramatic call...
Can you remember a Niekro who threw a knuckler? The Giants had one — he was just standing too far from the mound...
The A's finally lose out on Raffy Furcal. The saga raises some difficult questions. If you're Furcal, why would you choose Oakland over Atlanta or L.A.? And if you're Bobby Crosby, how's your mood on Day One of spring training?
A friend with the Giants clarified Sabean's bizarre "leapfrog" statement. There's no extra money flying around, C.C. rumors or no — but certain N.L. West teams are facing some mighty rough circumstances...
More trouble for the Warriors: Coach Nellie says he's "soft" and asks for help on D. The rumors of Wright or Randolph for Raymond Felton is one of those every single fan hopes is false. Meanwhile, the W's cut draftee Richard Hendrix with not an NBA minute to his name. Randolph on his relationship with Nelson, who's said he must improve: "I'd prefer not to comment on that..."
A marriage of baseball and hockey, as the NHL brings back their hit Winter Classic at Chicago's Wrigley Field. As the bankrupt Trib tries to scare up cash and sell the property, and after last year's NHL outdoor bonanza, it's a win-win all around...
For you music fans, friend of the show Tommy "Soulati" Shepherd is involved in a play you need to check out, before it goes!
Speaking of music, Lex and I have mulled rights issues since the show began. Two saving graces regarding the intro track: a 2006 piece wherein Tom Petty admits, "I don't believe in lawsuits much" (bless 'im,) and the fact that we put out The NOR CAL Report for free anyway...
Thanks as always for your support, and keep those comments coming. See you next week, for another fresh new NOR CAL Report!

What going on with the A's. They have been ignored for the last two weeks. I know A's fans don't get a lot of info from Billy in the off season, thats why we all depend on you. Thank you for your hard work!

Thanks for weighing in, Jon. We try not to hit all 8 teams each week; it would make a super-long show. We'll report the headlines -- and sprinkle in interviews like next week's exclusive with Huston Street.
Thanks for staying tuned!
